If you are an Indian business owner or proprietor, then the Indonesian business visa for Indians provides an indelible opportunity for you. The visa allows you to grow your firm's relations in another country, allowing for a vast scope of networking hitherto not possible. Indonesia has one of the fastest-growing economies in Asia, with its leading sectors being infrastructure, manufacturing, and technology; providing prospective Indian business owners with an economic opportunity to expand and grow their business there.

But how to go about doing that if you're a business owner? This blog will cover insights into the visa program for Indians in Indonesia, specifically the Indonesian business visa for Indians.

What is the Indonesian Business Visa for Indians?

To visit Indonesia for any business-related purposes, all international travellers must obtain a business visa first. With this visa, you can attend conferences, exhibitions, meetings within your company (and any sister companies), and other business activities. However, it is critical to note that this type of visa does not permit you to be employed and paid by an Indonesian company.

Furthermore, the business visa is also available as an on-arrival service for the citizens of the countries on Indonesia's e-VOA or visa-on-arrival list. India falls in this list and therefore Indian passport holders can get an Indonesian visa on arrival.

Types of Visa

The Indonesian business visa for Indians can be divided into 3 categories. The first is the visa on arrival, which is available for visits less than 30 days. However, this period can be extended for another 30 days. To obtain this visa extension, one must visit an immigration office in Indonesia.

The second type of Indonesian business visa for Indians is the single-entry business visa. The purpose of this visa is to stay in Indonesia for a duration of up to 60. The single-entry visa can also be extended, but you must note that you can only use this type of visa to enter Indonesia once. If you go out of the country, the visa has to be re-obtained. You must apply for this visa before your trip as it is not an on-arrival service. To obtain a single-entry visa, you should contact your nearest Indonesian embassy and submit the visa application forms, additional documents, and visa fees.

The last visa type is the multiple-entry business visa, which is for individuals who want to enter and exit Indonesia multiple times in 12 months. Similar to the single-entry visa, this visa must be applied before your trip and all necessary documents must be submitted. This visa type only allows individuals to stay for a maximum of 60 days in Indonesia, following which they must leave the country and can return later if they wish to. This visa can also be extended, but it has to be done before your current visa expires.

It is important to note that the above instructions are only for Indian nationals, if you are a citizen of a country that is not part of Indonesia's e-VOA list, then you must apply for and obtain an Indonesian visa before your trip, regardless of the duration of stay.
