About the Show

In a heart-wrenching episode of the Global Indian Podcast, Chief Explorer Rajan Nazran engages in a poignant conversation with Serbulent Sengun, shedding light on the pervasive generational trauma gripping Turkey. Join them as we delve into the unimaginable pain and suffering its people endure daily.

The alarming reality is that acts of violence, like the tragic incident that claimed the lives of a young child, their father, a married couple, and a teenager with their mother, have sadly become commonplace in Turkey. Although shocking to outsiders, this low death count pales in comparison to the grim reality its residents face.

Every individual impacted by these bombings carries a unique story—a story that is a testament to their resilience and strength. However, the aftermath is agonising for the families left behind. They grapple with survivor’s guilt and the excruciating loss of their loved ones. Fear permeates the air, deterring people from gathering in crowded places often targeted by bombs. Even arranging a dignified funeral becomes a challenge due to the devastating state of the bodies.

Yet, amidst the despair, the people of Turkey refuse to relinquish hope. They yearn for a brighter future, demonstrating the indomitable human spirit that perseveres despite unimaginable tragedy. However, the impact of these bombings extends beyond personal grief. The influx of immigrants further strains society and the economy, adding to the complex challenges faced by the nation.

Don’t miss this gripping firsthand account of a survivor’s daily life in a war-torn Turkey. Tune in to gain a deeper understanding of their harrowing experiences and the resilience that sustains them.
