Meet Manjit Minhas, the visionary entrepreneur and beer baroness from Calgary, Alberta. At 41, she co-founded the Minhas Brewery, Distillery, and Winery, leading a privately-owned empire with revenues exceeding $220 million last year.

Starting her ventures at 19, Manjit launched spirits in 1999 and beers in 2002 with her brother and business partner, Ravinder Minhas. Together, they made a remarkable entry into the Canadian beer industry, disrupting the market and introducing over 90 brands of beers, spirits, liqueurs, and wines. Their products are now sold in 5 provinces, 47 US states, and 16 other countries.

Passionate about social responsibility, Manjit became the first Canadian brewer to voluntarily place a Management Warning on her beer cans, advocating against drinking and driving and promoting responsible consumption. She is also committed to sustainability, creating eco-friendly packaging and implementing innovative engineering practices in production.

Beyond her brewing success, Manjit co-owns Spotlight TV and Film Production, producing documentaries, films, commercials, and corporate videos in Calgary, Vancouver, and Los Angeles.

Joining CBC’s “Dragons’ Den” in 2015, Manjit’s journey as a venture capitalist Dragon has been driven by her dedication to supporting aspiring entrepreneurs and sharing her expertise.

Manjit’s achievements have earned her numerous awards, including Canada’s Top 40 Under 40 and the Top 100 Women Entrepreneurs in Canada. She serves on several boards and actively contributes to philanthropic causes that benefit women and children in Calgary.
