Our perceptions of gender have been deeply ingrained over time, yet when we dissect the societal expectations dictating how genders should behave, we confront a human tendency that poses potential challenges to civilization.

In this engaging conversation, we aim to unravel the complexities of gender and society in contemporary India. Join host Rajan Nazran as he meets with the talented and insightful Pradipta Ray, a social activist, animation artist, filmmaker, painter, and designer from India. Together, they explore the intricate interplay between gender roles and societal expectations, shedding light on the challenges individuals and communities face in pursuing gender equality.

Throughout the discussion, Pradipta examines the deeply rooted patriarchal structures in Indian society that perpetuate harmful stereotypes and unequal power dynamics. She highlights the impact of early gender role assignment on individual freedom and expression, prompting us to question the social norms we’ve long taken for granted.

In this enlightening conversation, we also delve into the Trans-movement, examining how it challenges conventional notions of being a man or woman and opens up new possibilities for understanding gender identity.
