About Igor Jakomin

Igor Jakomin is a seasoned coach, mentor, and consultant with over 25 years of expertise in international business and supply chains. He currently serves as the Deputy CEO of CargoX, a pioneering start-up delivering blockchain solutions for the logistics sector and global trade.

At CargoX, Jakomin previously held roles as Business Development Director and Chief Operating Officer. The company made history during his tenure by digitally transferring the first maritime bill of lading using blockchain technology. Under his leadership, CargoX developed a secure blockchain platform for document and data transfer, earning multiple international awards, including the prestigious 2018 start-up competition by the International Road Union (IRU) in Geneva. Today, CargoX operates the Advance Cargo Information (ACI) system for the Government of Egypt.

Jakomin also has experience in the start-up arena, having served as Head of Strategic Development at SmartCargo for a year and a half.

Throughout his career, Jakomin has managed branches of United Parcel Service (UPS) in Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, held senior executive positions within the Italian Samer Group, and served on the supervisory boards of Luka Koper and BTC Terminal Sežana. He has provided consultancy services to various companies both in Slovenia and internationally. Since early 2018, he has been a consultant and mentor at Comark, a successful logistics company.
